Music about people like us in places like these…

"Everything you can imagine is real," said Pablo Picasso, and it's a sentiment that singer-songwriter Paul Depew has taken to heart. With a voice like honey, he weaves his way through the people, places, and experiences that have shaped his musical journey.

Starting out playing on the streets of Dublin, Cork, and Galway at just 18, Paul quickly made a name for himself as a captivating performer. Since then, he's been part of a number of musical projects, but has always preferred to stay a free agent, enchanting audiences from Seattle to Austin.

Described as having a voice that "seemed to simultaneously belong in a full church choir, yet at the same time also wouldn’t be out of place coming from the bed of a career coal miner’s pickup truck," Paul's sound is both unique and familiar. His music is like "having a deep and meaningful conversation at a party with a stranger," according to one critic, with every track offering a "unique and surprising insight into life."

But it's not just Paul's voice that sets him apart. He's also an accomplished guitarist, with a "strong guitar sound" that "you can feel throughout your body." His solos are particularly impressive, showcasing his skill and passion for the instrument.

Whether he's singing sad cowboy songs, classic 90s covers, or introspective musings on being human, Paul's music is always powerful and full of emotion. He brings out an "inviting timber, trailing vibrato, and is impressively powerful throughout," making every performance an unforgettable experience.

Currently residing in Ashland, OR, Paul invites you to come find him by closing your eyes and listening for the sweet music in the air. His poetic journey through life and music is one that critics and booking agents won't want to miss.

Thoughts

…. to simultaneously belong in a full church choir, yet at the same time also wouldn’t be out of place coming from the bed of a career coal miner’s pickup truck…

“Depew’s voice seemed to simultaneously belong in a full church choir, yet at the same time also wouldn’t be out of place coming from the bed of a career coal miner’s pickup truck, as he strummed on a beat up, old acoustic after working a double shift down in the mine. ”

...having a deep and meaningful conversation at a party...

“Paul Depew, creates music that is as hard to describe as it is familiar in sound yet new and enriched in feeling. Every track is like having a deep and meaningful conversation at a party with a stranger – you know you’re there, you know what’s meant to be happening, and yet every stranger (and song) has a unique and surprising insight into life."

...brings out an inviting timber, trailing vibrato...

“Granted, Depew has a solid vocal timber. He is full of reckless abandon and passion. All the vocal harmonies are highly effective and incredibly placed. Depew has excellent vocal instincts at the back the mix. Within every movement, he brings out an inviting timber, trailing vibrato, and is impressively powerful throughout.”

...something that you can feel throughout your body...

“From the start, (Paul Depew) gets you with the up-tempo beat and the 90’s rock vibe. The strong guitar sound is definitely something that you can feel throughout your body, rather than just something you listen to. Whether you’re really someone who loves a good guitar solo or not, you’re going to love the way this guitar sounds throughout the album and especially during the solos. .”
